World Dance Day 2026: 24 Jam Menari at ISI Surakarta

Every year on April 29, Solo becomes the dance capital of Indonesia. Since 2007, the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Surakarta has celebrated World Dance Day with 24 Jam Menari, a 24-hour nonstop dance marathon that brings together thousands of dancers from across the archipelago and beyond. Now in its 20th year, the event fills the ISI campus with traditional, contemporary, and experimental performance around the clock, from the Pendopo Ageng to the Teater Besar and beyond.

This year, PBT co-founder and artistic director Ari Rudenko will dance the full 24 hours, with surprise guests joining throughout. Come find us.
